To be or not to be? That is the question: SER vs ESTAR:

¡Hola a todos! Soy Romina Romaniello, tu profesora de español de Hola Spanish. Welcome to Hola Tuesday, your weekly Spanish lesson!!

Last week I had a profound realisation and today I’d like to share it with you. I just had this sudden understanding of an universal truth: without other’s support, we can’t accomplish anything.

I realised this truth when I noticed that we have 5,000 followers on Instagram!!!!!!!!!!

Your amazing support means the world to us. We had a dream of creating Hola Spanish because we wanted to connect with our students on a different level. We didn’t like meeting with them only for an hour and half every week during lessons. We wanted to be there everyday, everywhere. So we worked hard to make this happen but without YOU it would have all been in vain.

From the bottom of our hearts 💕 we want to say MUCHAS GRACIAS 😊

Today we’ll tackle one of the most tricky verbs for English speakers: SER & ESTAR. Both verbs are translated as TO BE into English so it’s hard to distinguish when you’re supposed to use one or the other.

But fear no more, mi amigo! Watch this video-lesson to know exactly when to use SER & ESTAR:

Did you enjoy your lesson? Practise Spanish with us and give us an example with every use of SER and ESTAR in the comments section below. You can talk about yourself or about someone else.

That’s all for today! Remember to sign up to your Hola Spanish FREE lesson here. I’ll see you next week on your Hola Tuesday lesson! ¡Adiós! ¡Hasta la próxima clase!
