Get ready for this holiday season with these 5 traditions from Spain and Latin-America:

It´s Romina Romaniello here today. It´s time for Hola Tuesday, your weekly Spanish lesson!

December is here and Christmas is just around the corner. Brenda and I decided to create special lessons during this month to teach you everything that you need to know about the holiday season in Latin-America and Spain. Today´s lesson is about 5 Christmas traditions that we follow in Spanish speaking countries.

We had this idea about doing Xmas special lessons after we had a ‘Let’s catch-up before Christmas’ dinner with our friend Mark, who is from England. He was very sweet and decided to prepare dinner himself in the traditional English style. The food was delicious and we all had a great time. I particularly enjoyed it because it brought me memories of when I visited England myself, where I got to experience a Christmas with different traditions than my own.

Perhaps that it’s what I absolutely love about travelling: getting to learn other ways of celebrating important moments of our lives. In Latin-America and Spain we have unique and fun ways of celebrating Christmas and the New Year, I’ll talk about the most interesting ones in the video-lesson but just now I want to tell this: if you ever get a chance to visit Spain or Latin-America during the holidays season, by all means DO NOT MISS IT! You’d be amazed!!! It’s perhaps one of the most important celebrations in the whole year.

As you know speaking Spanish is essential to integrate in the culture and with natives. Check out our program specifically designed for travellers in ‘Our Courses’ section.

Now let’s just dive right in to today’s Hola Tuesday lesson:
